We all made it home. and in one piece. It was very busy, but we had a GREAT time. We found a great hotel that offers a family suite, and it is located across the street from Disneyland. I really liked it and it was worth the money.

Spring Break
Imagine this..
Getting told you were heading to Disneyland for a week for Spring Break. And then your parents tell you that plans had changed, That you weren't going after all , and that you were going to stay home and work. Tears, that is what we got. It made me tear up, they were all so sad. We told the kids we had to change our plans. We had to make a decision, working a home show, or continuing with our plans for vacation. We decided to stick with our plans and go on vacation, but not before we played with the kids emotions for a bit. We made the right decision. They are all excited and so are we. But now...
Searching, shopping, bowling, partying, and hopefully sleeping...
Then... vacation!! I am so excited. We will stop in Oxnard on the way too. I look forward to a bit of home.
But first I get to search the garage for summer clothes, it's supposed to be hot in CA, then shopping for food to take with us, a trip to the bowling alley with Kathryn and 5 of her friends, and a sleepover and a bit of partying in the morning. Finally having her birthday party-only 3 weeks late.
We plan to pack the car Friday, then maybe we might actually sleep. But not before we make a brief appearance at a wedding reception and a stop at a book store. I am sure there are a million things i will do before I actually sleep Friday night. but it is all worth it.
Vacation!! We're off to the "Happiest Place on Earth" Watch out Mickey, here come the Davis'.

mom's
Mom's are supposed to be mean-this says it all.
I had the meanest Mother in the world. While other
kids had candy for breakfast, I had to eat cereal,
eggs and toast. While other kids had cakes and candy
for lunch, I had a sandwich. As you can guess, my
dinner was different from other kids' dinners, too.
My mother insisted on knowing where we were at all
times. You'd think we were on a chain gang or
something. She had to know who our friends were and
what we were doing.
I am ashamed to admit it, but she actually had the
nerve to break the child labor law. She made us work.
We had to wash dishes, make the beds and learn how to
cook. That woman must have stayed awake nights
thinking up things for us kids to do. And she
insisted that we tell the truth, the whole truth and
nothing but the truth.
By the time we were teenagers, she was much wiser and
our life became more unbearable. None of this tooting
the car horn for us to come running; she embarrassed
us to no end by insisting that friends come to the
door to get us.
I forgot to mention that most of our friends were
allowed to date at the mature age of 12 or 13, but our
old fashioned Mother refused to let us date until we
were 16. She really raised a bunch of squares. None
of us was ever arrested for shoplifting or busted for
dope. And who do we have to thank for this? You're
right, our mean mother.
I am trying to raise my children to stand a little
straighter and taller and I am secretly tickled to
pieces when my children call me mean. I thank God for
giving me the meanest Mother in the world. Our
country doesn't need a good five cent cigar. It needs
more mean Mothers like mine.
Blessings on that wonderful woman.

sickies
RSV... STREP... SCARLET FEVER.... The joys of winter-sickness. And we got hit hard with it.
Gage has rsv AND strep, Logan has Strep and Austin has scarlet fever.
Poor Gage has to go to the rsv clinic as needed to get the mucus sucked from his nose with a catheter that is not even as big as his pinky nail. He was not thrilled. It took about 10 minutes and he screamed and squirmed the whole time. I had to hold his head while his hand were held to his body with a blanket. That is what we have to look forward to for the next 7 days. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, I am hoping this suctioning will keep us from getting pneumonia or some time in the hospital.
Logan just seems to have a bad cold, and little cranky. You know, crying and getting really upset for no big reason. He fell asleep on the couch last night early. We knew he was fighting something. Luckily the dr. was nice enough to write him a prescription without charging us anything. and is meds only cost $16. WAHOO.
Austin had a double ear infection a week and a half ago, plus a funny rash. I took him to get some meds, and the crankiness went down, but his hands started peeling and his skin was really dry and bumpy. When I took Gage in today, and he was positive for strep the dr. figured that is what the boys had as well and started writing prescriptions, I asked him about Austin's peeling hands and he said, oh, that is a symptom of scarlet fever-YIKES! Luckily the meds he prescribed will take care of it. I know nothing about scarlet fever, I didn't think people got that anymore. I am off to research it a bit. (all it is, is strep throat with a rash, I am so grateful it isn't anything worse, We caught it early enough that is should be okay, YEA!!) I wasn't thinking about asking questions at the dr. office today. I was in a bit of a shock. The boys just got off the state insurance they were on and now they are really sick. I was a bit stressed. When I got home Jared started asking me if I asked this or that, and I had to say no, feeling bad that I wasn't thorough enough. oh well.
I am definitely better now. The dr. was nice and is willing to give us a break $$ wise.
I guess we are going to be stuck in the house for a bit. Maybe everyone else will stay healthy!!
And with trials came many blessings. And I am so grateful. Gage will continue to have insurance after the end of the month. The dr. has graciously said he will help make the visits cost less, if we have to go in. And we are getting everyone well. The home teachers will be coming over soon to help give each of the sickies a blessing. I know we have been watched over today.

Our Brother the TV Star
While we were up visiting Kim and Joe this past weekend, Joe did a TV spot on Channel 2 early morning show. We didn't get to watch it. We were too late turning on the TV. But Kim found it on the Internet, so we checked it out. We are all so excited we wanted to share what Kim found with everyone. a fun weekend
We should have known that if Austin got sick in the middle of the night, that we should have just stayed home, and kept it to ourselves. But we did have a good weekend none the 
less.
We had a great weekend. We headed up north to hang out with Joe and Kim. It was great to hang out with them, and see their new house. We headed out to Wheeler farm It was great fun. The kids ran
around seeing the animals, climbing on the tractors, and feeding the ducks. The weather was great. We took a great walk around the farm trail, and found a great tree to play on and little house to play in. Saturday night we went to check out Joe's restaurant. It was awesome. Can't wait to sit at the "chef's table" and eating whatever he cooks for us. :)
Sunday we took a trip to Temple Square. It was beautiful as always. Tanner got sick right after we got out of the car, so he got to ride in the stroller, and we followed him around with a bag. And then I stayed home from church and read a book, while Tanner and Logan watched movie, and just chilled.
Monday we woke to a few inches of snow. It was great fun. Too bad I felt horrible. I couldn't join in on the fun. But I did get some cute pictures.
We drove home in a snow storm the whole way.
Until Leeds, then it was just rain, and Logan being sick in the back seat. Poor kid threw up until 11 pm. I felt so bad for him. He is feeling better today. It is Kathryn's and Sydney's turn today. oh well. At least it is a quick flu bug.

Happy Birthday Kathryn!!
10 years old. Wow. You are a beautiful girl. And a great helper. I love you. I will tell you a bit about her. She wants to be older than she is, she likes to babysit, and dress up, do her hair, and fight with her sisters. and man oh man, can she give the biggest attitude of them all. She is a joy to have in our family. Happy Birthday Sweetheart.

Happy Valentine's Day
"For My Wife"
It's Valentine's Day,
and I don't know how you do it!!
You put up with the long hours, the whining,
the fussing to be fed, and the constant need for attention.
(then on the inside)
And as if I'M not enough,
you've got the KIDS, too.
hahaha. This made my day start out great. I was so surprised to have a card and flowers and gifts when I woke up this morning. What a great husband I have.
