Mommy moment

EXCUSE THIS HOUSE

Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there.
Ours boast of it quite openly,
Ths signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges on the door.
I should apologize, I guess
For toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children
And we played, laughed and read.
And if the doorbell doesn't shine
Their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I am forced
To choose one job or the other,
I want to keep a tidy house
But first I'll be a mother.

Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
for babies grow up we've learned to our sorrow.
So, quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

If a mother's place is in the home--
then why do I spend so much time in the car?

I've always said that the first year of a babies life needs to be spent in the arms of their mother. Forget the cleaning, cooking and laundry, just love that little one.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog.
