On Thursday the family came through town and stayed at our place for the night. Austin and Ben (Esther's oldest) were having a great time outside. Austin has a great love for water and dirt. Can you tell they had fun?

This is what I felt like doing all day. I stayed up with Cori finishing a school project and I was only asleep less than 4 hours.
Jared finished the garage shelves on Saturday. I filled them up today. I took all the boxes from the floor of the garage and put them on the shelves. There is still lots of room and when I get all my stuff organized there will be even more room. I am ready to unload the 3 cabinets we had in there holding stuff, into boxes. Then we will be ready to go through every box and seperate garage sale and trash and keep. I am very happy with what we accomplished today. Its so nice to have a cleaner garage. While I was in there I left Gage eating his mac & cheese waiting to hear him yell for me. I heard the bowl hit the floor and when I came in, he was asleep. I know-nice mom, leaving the kid eating while I worked in the garage. I have an obsession with this project. But no excuse.

up to Salt Lake
yes again. We finally got the little boys up to their post op appt Friday. We will be heading back in June. We are happy and appreciative that our family lets us stay at their house, feeds us and lets us watch Disney channel. It was a short trip, We ended up driving up Friday early morning, and coming home Saturday evening.
We were able to have some fun on Saturday though, we headed to the zoo. It made Gage so tired that he slept the entire way home to St. George.
The kids resisting me taking their picture
The clan, minus one.
Austin being upset that he was in the stroller
Gage in his normal happy face
Maybe our next trip will be a bit longer and we can plan more fun stuff. And actually get to hang out with Joe.

I did it!!
I ran my first 5k! It was great. well as great as running can be. But I think I really enjoyed it. It was hard work. But I made it to the finish line and way under the time I saw myself getting. 38 minutes. YEAH. I am very excited about it. I came in 27th in my age group and 124th over all. Not bad for my first race. A friend of mine got a couple pictures before the race, maybe I can get them from her and then I will post them. It was a fun day. I had two friends there with me until they said go. It really helped my nerves. and they were there at the finish line cheering me on. I saw Jared's head first, so I knew the family made it too. It was great to have them there cheering for me, and walking with me after the race was done. I am so glad I went through with it, and didn't back out. The race was in Washington-I think, anyway it was Run 4 Kids benefiting the Learning Center for Families. This organization helps kids with special needs, and their families. They had a 1k fun run for kids, 5k & 10k. It was so great to see all these people out running, and knowing the money went to help all those kids and families, which includes us. I am so greatful for their help. Gage is doing great, and with their help he is progressing.
I am glad I ran, and I am glad its done. I feel a relief.

science fair
Sydney really wanted to do a science project this year for the science fair. So we tracked down a book and took an experiment on WIND out of the book. She made a wind vane, and checked what direction the wind blew trying to see if it blew the same way every day. She didn't think it did, but wanted to make sure. It turned out good. I am glad she did the project. She was one of 3 in her class that did a project. Today her teacher gave her a soda and popcorn and NO homework for sticking with her idea to do a project. Now if we could only find a harder one for next year, that might win a ribbon?!
we had an accident...
with berry smoothie! Gage loves to drink out of a regular cup, but usually spills it all over himself. So Monday night it was no different. He wanted to drink out of a cup, so I gave him a tiny bit of smoothie. He takes a drink, doesn't get anything, and tries again. This time it all comes down into his mouth. With is mouth wide open in shock, he pushes that stuff right out of his mouth, down his shirt and onto the floor. It really looked like a puddle of blood. Jared was gone at Volleyball- I seriously thought of moving the suburban, and leaving him a note that said we had an accident and I had to rush Gage to the ER. But I was nice, and I didn't.
He came home from Volleyball injured. He rolled his ankle. He is now on crutches-not sure when he will go back to work. It has been nice having him home. I like the company.

Can you say
Redneck?! Say it with me REDNECK. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think that one of my kids looks like an orphan or white trash, but really right now I feel like a redneck, and I will show you why.
these weeds-almost 3 feet high
couches belong inside, one good thing about these being outside, the kids can eat, jump, drink etc, and I don't care.
the swing set, that is supposed to be upright, I think.
and the best yet, the 2 refrigerators!!
We did get a new couch from a friend, that's wonderful.
the weeds did get mowed, so it almost looks like we have grass
and we bought a brand new refrigerator. Its awesome. I love it. Now I'm looking forward to slowly replacing all the appliances in the kitchen, and then some new cabinets would be nice.

For some reason this week's menu was super easy to plan. Maybe because Monday this week is leftover night, and I don't need to stress tomorrow about the shopping getting done.
Our all time fav from last week was crepes. They are always a hit. Be sure to visit Laura for lots more menu plans.
Monday- leftover crepes/chef salad (got a huge bag-o-salad from the church thing the other night, need to use it up)
Tuesday-Lasagna & Salad
Wednesday-Salmon & Rice & french bread (probably the kids least fav meal)
Thursday-Cowboy Enchiladas & beans & salad
Friday- biscuit pizzas
Saturday-open kitchen & race day
Sunday-Scalloped Potatoes & ham & rolls.
